We had a successful first day of Roots+Wings Playschool. We are so proud of all the kids for participating and learning about apples, ants and alligators to celebrate A week.
(Students find their photo and put it on the sign in board. We then use this board for our story time greeting song)
Please enjoy this photo summary of our day!
Invitation to Play
(Ten Apples on Top activity: Students were able to see their classmate’s photos as they practiced stacking apples on their heads, just like the book. This offered opportunity for counting practice and and facial recognition.)
(Literacy: Our literacy area this week was full of all types of books and a Handwriting Without Tears alphabet poster. It is a nice little area for the kids to take a break from the sensory activities to take in a book)
(Ants Go Marching read aloud and quick ant parts lesson)
(Classic ants on a log) (Apple Pie Cooking: The students practiced their cooking skills including cutting up their apples, mixing ingredients and cooking their apples in the skillet. It was a yummy success!)
Thank you for joining!
